Rihanna put all of her hardworking into her latest album, Talk That Talk, but at one point, all of her hard work caused her to break down because it became overwhelming.

In the fall of last year, the “We Found Love” singer came down with an illness that caused her to cancel two concerts. She was also in the process of completing Talk That Talk so she was in high demand.  In a newly released  interview for a “making of” video for her album, she said that recording the album was the hardest on her.

“This is the craziest schedule I’ve ever been on in my entire life. One morning I woke up and started f– crying so hard. I finally just got to my bed from the IV and I was just like, ‘Good I can actually get to sleep tonight’ because we stayed up [all night] and I finished [the album] at 5pm the day before,” she said, according to The Mirror. “So now I’m like ‘One good night of rest’. I get in bed and it could not have been two hours in before my phone started going off. I was so frustrated that I kept ignoring the phone. Every time it would go off, but every time I would ignore it. It would be another burden on my shoulders ’cause I know it has to get done.”

The singer knew she was the only one who could get the job done and eventually she boiled over.

“I started crying. I cried for 10 minutes really, really hard in my pillow… It was aggressive, she added.  ”I don’t cry loads. If I cry it’s because I’m very angry and I can’t do anything about it, because I’ve run into a dead end, like nothing you can do about a situation, that’s when the tears would come down. But this time I needed to hear it, I almost wanted to punch somebody.”

Rihanna did get up and get to work and it was all worth it.

“When I got the copies in my hand, it was so worth it. I would never take it back. At times I wished things could have been different and easier but then I didn’t really care when I got the album. The fact it was so difficult, the album feels so much better,” she said.

Similarly, Rihanna was just recently battling an illness through her busy schedule, which included the premiere of Battleship, her debut film. Her recent illness also required her to get an IV. She admitted, “I always deny myself [rest].”
